Commission calculator
Find out what the middleman costs you
Every room an OTA sells for you arrives 15–20% lighter. Move the sliders to your numbers and see what a year of that adds up to — and what you’d keep booking the same rooms direct.
Room-nights you sell through Booking.com, Expedia and the rest in an average month.
What those rooms go for before commission comes out.
Most independents pay 15–20%, and more once you add sponsored placement.
Every year
- You pay OTAs
- $15,480
- You pay After8Pro, per property
- $348
- You keep
- $15,132
On $77,400 of room revenue, commission is the single largest line item you can delete outright. After8 never takes a cut of a booking — the guest pays you at the front desk.
The fine print
What this does and doesn’t assume
Commission is the whole saving
We only count the percentage an OTA keeps. Sponsored placement, rate-parity discounts and loyalty rebates cost you more on top — none of that is in the number above.
Rates are negotiated, not fixed
After8 is same-night inventory, so a guest offer usually lands below your rack rate. You set the floor and approve every offer — but the rate you realize on a given night can differ from the one above. The commission is always zero.
We quote the plan you’d actually pick
Starter runs the full negotiation loop free forever. The calculator only charges you for Pro once your commission bill is bigger than the subscription.
An estimate, not a quote or a forecast of bookings. See pricing for what each plan includes.
